Holymoorside Annual Carols and Readings with Holymoorside Band

Saturday 17 December 2016 at 7.00pm

We will be having our annual Carols and Readings with the Holymoorside Band.

Entry is free, but a donation will be requested at the close of the concert.

Some of the readings will be taken from the 2016 Advent Reflections booklet with contributions from all over the East Midlands Synod.

St Andrew's Church Carols By Candlelight: includes a collection for Christian Aid

The collection for Christian Aid at the Carols by Candlelight Service raised £377 which was increased by £155 in Memory of Mr Fred Booker, making a total of £532.

St Andrew's Christingle Service 2 December 2016

picture of a ChristingleA total of 90 Scouts, their Leaders, Parents and members of St Andrew's Church gathered in St Andrew's Church for the annual Christingle Service.

The Scouts enjoyed singing Carols with the words displayed on the Sanctuary wall at the front and a game of charades concerning the Christingle.

St Andrew's Church Christmas Bazaar

St Andrew's Church Christmas Bazaar took place on Saturday 26 November 2016 in the Church Hall.

Holymoorside Church Christmas Bazaar

On Saturday 26 November 2016 we held our Christmas Bazaar. The event went very well and more people than ever came.

The sum raised was £450.00.

Thank you to all the people who manned the stalls and served the refreshments. Thank you for donating all the things on the stalls and then for buying them back again.

Holymoorside Church Family Remembrance Service

The Church was full for the Family Remembrance Service held on Sunday 20 November 2016.

Most of the people in Church wanted to light a candle, others preferred to just sit quietly and remember their loved ones.

People then went downstairs where refreshments were being served.

Church Christmas Bazaars

St Andrew's Church Christingle Service - a service for children of all ages

A service for children of all ages.

Families and children are especially welcome to attend the Scouts' Christingle Service to be held at St Andrew's Church on Friday 2 December 2016 at 6.30pm.

The Cotton Millers Club AGM with Entertainment

The Cotton Millers Club: a monthly club for adults with learning difficulties.

The Cotton Millers club was set up in October 2000 as part of the community work of Holymoorside United Reformed Church.

It is a monthly club for adults with learning difficulties in Holymoorside and Chesterfield which meets in the United Reformed Church Hall in Holymoorside. In the summer months extra activities are organised away from the Church Hall.

Senior Schools' Art Exhibition at St Andrew's Church

The Senior Schools' Art Exhibition, which showcases the amazing, creative talents of local students in Chesterfield, was Picture of people enjoying the Art Exhibition displayed in the Hall of St Andrew's Church.officially opened by the Mayor of Chesterfield, Councilor Steve Brunt inside St Andrew's Church on Saturday, 8 October 2016.

In front of a full congregation of Parents and Teachers in the Church, each winning artist was presented with a certificate by the Mayor, together with the Mayoress and the President of the Rotary Club, Mike Cudzich-Madry, as well as having their photograph taken with the Mayor.

Inside the Church, large, portrait paintings were displayed on large easels, as well as smaller photographic work.

The photograph shows people enjoying the vast amount of wonderful artwork on display in the Church Hall. Eight Senior Schools were exhibiting their students' artwork, St Mary's Catholic High School, Whittington Green School, Parkside Community School, Brookfield Community School, Hasland Hall Community School, Springwell Community College, Netherthorpe School and Outwood Academy.

The Senior Schools Art Exhibition at St Andrew's Church was sponsored by the Rotary Club.
