CHRISTMAS BAZAAR

St Andrew's held a successful and well attended Christmas Bazaar on 20th November which raised £1201.  Thank you to everyone who took part.

RIDE AND STRIDE SUCCESS

St Andrew's opened on Saturday 11th September to welcome cyclists and walkers taking part in the Derbyshire Churches and Chapels Preservation Trust's annual sponsored Ride and Stride.  We were delighted to welcome 16 people over the course of the day and raised £230 in sponsorship.  They were all very happy to accept the offer of cold drinks, tea and coffee to sustain them on their journey. Funds raised will be used to help repair places of worship across the county and preserve our religious heritage.

TEA PARTY RAISES £300 FOR CHRISTIAN AID

120 people crammed into St Andrew's large hall on 10th August to share tea, sandwiches and cakes and raise funds for Christian Aid.  The event was organised by Churches Together in Newbold and hosted by St Andrew's.  £300 was sent to Christian Aid.

SCREENWORKS PUPILS IN TV SITCOM PILOT

18 pupils of the Screenworks acting training group which meets on St Andrew's premises every week will appear alongside professional actors in the pilot episode of a sitcom 'School on Report' to be filmed in Chesterfield.  If the pilot is successful it could be turned into a TV series.  Actors Lee Otway and Marc Jordan who run Screenworks say "This is a brilliant opportunity for our pupils to learn the craft from established actors".

SUMMER FAIR SUCCESS

Over £1500 was raised for church funds at the Summer Fair.  This will help the church in its mission and service to the people of Chesterfield.
