80th Anniversary of St Andrew's presence in Chesterfield

A service was held on Sunday 17 July 2011 to mark the 80th Anniversary of St Andrew’s Chesterfield. The 17 July is the Sunday closest to the date of first St Andrew’s Service which was held in the Market Hall, Chesterfield, on 16 July 1931. Before St Andrew’s Chesterfield was established many of the founding members of the congregation worshipped at St Andrew’s Sheffield. In the early years there was a close connection between the two congregations. It was, therefore, a pleasure and privilege for us to welcome the Revd Dr Sarah Hall, Minister at St Andrew’s Sheffield to lead worship on our 80th Anniversary. Members and friends are encouraged to support the 80th Anniversary service by attending worship on 17 July 2011. The Anniversary Service is the second event being held to commemorate the founding of St Andrew’s Church in Chesterfield. The first, held in February, was a Burns Night when fifty five members and friends attended.
