Families and children are especially welcome to attend the Scouts' Christingle Service to be held at St Andrew's Church on Sunday 11 December 2015 at 6.30pm.

The Christingle Service celebrates Jesus the light of the world.

MODERATOR OF GENERAL ASSEMBLY VISITS ST ANDREW'S

Holymoorside Church Family Remembrance Service

Sunday 15 November 2015, at 3.00pm

The Minister, Elders and members of both Holymoorside and St Andrew's United Reformed Churches invite you to attend a simple Family Remembrance Service.

The service will be approximately an hour long, include a few hymns, a reading and / or a poem, with an opportunity to light a candle to help remember your loved one.

Derbyshire Churches and Chapels Preservation Trust Ride and Stride Event

St Andrew's Church will be open on Saturday 12 September 2015 from 10.00am until 3.00pm to host the Derbyshire Churches and Chapels Preservation Trust Ride and Stride event.

We will be open to welcome Riders and Striders and to offer refreshments.

We welcomed 22 visitors to our church - thank you to all who came.

St Andrew's three Striders did very well to raise £319.00 in sponsorship money which will help both Derbyshire Churches and Chapels Preservation Trust and St Andrew's Church.

Congratulations to Barbara Turner.

Congratulations to Barbara Turner, member of Holymoorside Church, who has been awarded the British Empire Medal in the Queen's Birthday Honours list in recognition of all her charity work.

For Barbara's unstinting commitment to help other people with the Lifeboats Association, Salvation Army, Macular Research, Pre-school children, the Cotton Millers Youth Club for mentally challenged young people, Christian Aid, Water Aid and raising money to provide operations to repair hare lips in children through holding film shows, flower festivals, meal nights etc.

During 2015, St Andrew's celebrates the 60th Anniversary of the dedication of the church building at 187 Newbold Road, Chesterfield and the Art Exhibition is the latest in a programme of celebration special events planned.

Welcome to St Andrew's Church made by Highfield Hall Junior School

 

 

 

In celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the Dedication of St Andrew's Church building we were delighted to host Chesterfield in Stitches a large blue banner showing Chesterfield buildingswonderful craft exhibits from two local Primary Schools.Crooked Spire, Tourist Information, Eyre's Building and Museum  The excellent craft work was on display on the 20 June 2015 during the Summer Fair.

'Chesterfield in Stitches' was stitched by the children and Staff of Highfield Hall Primary School June 2015.
