ECO Church - The problem of Ocean plastic - continued

Just over one hundred years ago a new substance was invented, a wonderful new material that could be molded into all kinds of shapes and great care was taken to ensure that it was hard-wearing, rot-proof and virtually indestructible: plastic.

Oceans cover over half the surface of planet Earth.

8 million tonnes of plastic is dumped into the sea every year.

The candles are displayed on the window ledges around the Church and the words to the Carols are projected onto the front wall of the Church.

Thank you to everyone who came and enjoyed the day - we made £852 for Church funds.


There will be stalls of cakes, bottles, books, craft, bric-a-brac, tombola, raffle, games, garden plants, jams and pickles in the Church Hall.

We were delighted to welcome 1 new Member into the fellowship of St Andrew's Church at the Communion Service held on 5 November 2017.


Remembrance Service at St Andrew's Church at 10.30am Sunday 12 November 2017

St Andrew's Church Morning Worship: Remembrance Sunday and Parade Service 12 November 2017 at 10.30am.

The earlier start time to the Service is to observe the 11.00am silence to remember the fallen, and also to allow time for the 1st Highfield St Andrew's Scouts to attend the Act of Remembrance Service at the cenotaph at the junction between Newbold Road and Littlemoor at 12.00midday. 

ECO Church - The problem of Ocean plastic

St Andrew's Church, in order to prevent them going into landfill, recycles sweet biscuit wrappers with a Company called 'TerraCycle' who turn the wrappers into something picture of the Oceanuseful like pencil cases, tables or buckets. This activity of the Church relates to the fifth Mark of Mission of the United Reformed Church. viz.
